Draft 4 of 7 · after the Mayflower, 1620
The Petersham Compact
We, whose names are underwritten, the loyal residents of Petersham, having undertaken, for the glory of the neighbourhood and the advancement of the local café, to plant the first republic in these parts, do solemnly and mutually covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic.
By virtue hereof we shall enact such just and equal laws as shall be thought most meet for the general good of Petersham, beginning with the bins.
