This page explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with. Short version: only what we need to make and deliver your shirt, plus anonymous statistics about how the site is used. We don’t sell your information to anyone.

When you just look around
- The names you type. To show your preview, the name goes to imgix, the image service that draws it on the shirt. We also look the place up on Wikidata to find its postcode, population and so on. Neither gets anything that identifies you.
- Your country. We work out your country from your IP address to show the right currency and delivery dates. We don’t keep your IP address.
- Statistics. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and what they click (for example, sharing a declaration). It uses cookies and doesn’t tell us who you are. In the UK and Europe, we only use it if you say yes when we ask; you can change your answer any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Anywhere else, you can block it with your browser’s privacy settings or Google’s opt-out add-on.
- How you found us. WooCommerce, our shop software, stores a cookie recording where you came from (say, a TikTok link), so we can tell which posts lead to orders. If you place an order, it’s saved with that order.
- Your cart. Cookies remember your cart and your chosen currency.
When you order
We collect your name, email, delivery and billing address, phone number (optional), and what you ordered, including the name of your republic. We use these to make, deliver and support your order, and to send you emails about it.
We share them only with the companies that help us do that:
- Gelato prints and delivers your shirt. It gets your name, delivery address, email and phone number, so the courier can reach you.
- WooPayments (Stripe) handles your payment. Your card details go straight to them; we never see or store them.
- Our web host stores the website and its order records.
Some of these companies hold information outside Australia, including in the US, UK and Europe.
The gallery
Our gallery shows republics people have ordered: the name on the shirt and its design. It never shows who ordered it or where they live. If you’d rather your republic wasn’t shown, email us and we’ll take it down.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as tax law requires (in Australia, five years), then delete them. Google Analytics keeps its detailed visit data for up to 14 months. After that, only summary reports remain, and they don’t identify anyone.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted (except what we must keep for tax). Email orders@republicsofearth.com and we’ll reply within 30 days.
If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). In the UK, contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, your local data protection authority.

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date below.
